About Us
APS Metal Pressings is recognised as a world-leading manufacturer of precision metal pressings and metal stampings.
For almost 50 years, we have worked with customers to provide value-adding, end-to-end solutions. We can also tailor our approach around customer requirements to oversee tooling design and production, the manufacture of pressings and stampings, welding, finishing and assembly.
Company History
1970's
Our company was founded by Philip Smith in 1970. David Smith joined as a partner in 1976 and we relocated to larger 8,000 sq ft premises.
1980's
We became a Limited company, expanded our existing site to 18,000 sq ft and installed coil roll feeders.
1990's
2 x 4 station Aida transfer line presses were installed along with a 300 tonne Aida progression press and robotic welding facilities.
2000's
Our site increased to 57,000 sq ft and our capabilities were enhanced with the addition of a second Aida 300 tonne progression press, a 125 tonne SMV progression press and 600 tonne transfer press. We also installed a 5 x station Chin Fong transfer line and gained TS16949 and ISO14001 certification.
2010's
We continued to invest in technology and installed an Aida 150 tonne progression press complete with wire coil feeder and 6 axis robotic welding facility.
2020's
The company upgraded its manufacturing capabilities by installing a new 200 tonne servo-driven Aida DSV press, delivering improved control and efficiency, along with a higher-capacity Aida coil straightener designed to handle modern, demanding materials. In addition, four Hurco CNC lathes were purchased to support the growing volume of CNC machining orders.
